Staying Fit and Sane in the Time of COVID-19
With the closing of public facilities, Villages of Santa Fe and AARP immediately converted their weekly Balance & Beyond and Gentle Yoga classes online to encourage daily exercise and to reduce the isolation during this quarantine time. Online classes are available, free of charge, Tuesday through Friday. These classes can give us connection in this time of a pandemic and isolation.
Villages of Santa Fe, AARP, Maria Francis, Ann Church, and Judith Rhodes thank you for joining and participating in our Balance & Beyond and Gentle Yoga Classes.
I recently read an article in Popular Science Everything you need for a basic home gym
Small budget, big gains. Wow, this sounded like a great article, until I came to this:
If you have the space, both coaches flagged a barbell as the best thing you can buy. “You don’t even need that many plates,” Henke said. “For a normal person, up to 225 pounds will do great.”
225 POUNDS WILL DO GREAT. Who are they talking about? As you know from participating in our classes, you will gain balance and strength in our classes, but our weight suggestions are slightly lower.
You can invite your family and friends to join us. Sign up at the AARP New Mexico Events page.
Balance & Beyond, Maria Francis, Tuesday/Thursday, 2 pm
Gentle Yoga, Judith Rhodes, Wednesday/Friday, 10 am
Please join us about 10 minutes before class so we can get everyone in and started on time. We close our exercise classes five minutes after the hour.start
