Our Favorite Food Trucks
Terry and I love great food, and Santa Fe has many wonderful restaurants. In 2008, we started a list of New Mexico restaurants in which we have eaten, and we are up to 218!
In the past few years, there has been an explosion of food trucks in Santa Fe. There are almost too many food trucks to count, particularly on Airport Road and the corner of Old Santa Fe Trail and Paseo de Peralta. Food trucks are a great and simple way to try out different types of food at a very reasonable cost. We have become followers of several food trucks in Santa Fe. Here are our favorites:
El Chile Toreado – 807 Early Street
El Chile specializes in burritos, tacos, and quesadillas. Terry especially likes their breakfast burritos which are chock full of different meats, potatoes, and cheese. They are one of the few trucks that offer Carne Asada tacos. They also have an excellent polish sausage treat called the “Mr. Polish”.
Fusion Tacos – multiple locations
Fusion Tacos has become one of our favorites for birria tacos which are made with a special sauce that you can pour over the taco – delicious! They have 3 locations: Airport Road, the Santa Fe Brewing Company location off Highway 14, and the food truck lot across from Kaune’s at the corner of Old Santa Fe Trail and Paseo de Peralta.

Jesushi Santa Fe – 2217 Cerrillos Road
Believe it or not, this is a sushi food truck – located by the carwash on Cerrillos Road, across from Smith’s grocery. They have various sushi options, hand rolls, and Rellenos, and some fried options for those who prefer cooked fish. They have quite a following in Santa Fe. We highly recommend them!
Craft Donuts – food truck lot across from Kaune’s at the corner of Old Santa Fe Trail and Paseo de Peralta.
We just had to list our favorite food truck that offers the most wonderful donuts in Santa Fe. Their cake donuts are cooked to order. Eat them right then and there when they are fresh and piping hot – if you take them home you will lose their deliciousness! They have many options, but our favorites are the maple bacon and turtle (topped with chocolate sauce, caramel sauce, and pecans – YUM!).
These food trucks have a Facebook presence with more information available there. If you would like to stay abreast of restaurants in Santa Fe, the Santa Fe Foodies group on Facebook is a wealth of information!
Bon Appetit! Michelle and Terry
